We know that AI and technology have become increasingly integral elements of our society and organizations. But what good is technology without two-way conversations about its impact? What happens to AI when human involvement is removed? In this talk, Krystal Maughan, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Vermont, will discuss the crucial relationship between humans and technology involved in differential privacy as it relates to security, regulatory compliance, and provable fairness.
Krystal Maughan is a second year Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Vermont. She is currently researching provable fairness, differential privacy, and machine learning. She is most interested in humanistic science invention and research that empowers all people and impacts their lives positively.
